Istanbul textile manufacturer Mohammad Arslan: From last year to this year, due to a sharp decrease in orders, our production has decreased by 30% to 40%. Some companies are slowly closing down, while others that have reduced production are considering layoffs.

In 2022, Türkiye's textile exports will reach 10.4 billion US dollars, about 75 billion yuan. The export value of ready to wear clothing reached 21.2 billion US dollars, approximately 150 billion yuan, ranking fifth and sixth in the world, respectively. Industry insiders pointed out that as one of Türkiye's pillar industries, the rise and fall of the textile industry will have an impact on the overall economy.

Hayati Akbaba, President of Türkiye Ankara Garment and Textile Industrialists Association: The textile industry has always been the locomotive of Türkiye's economy.
